Pupils take on alumnae at The Abbey's inaugural All Stars netball match
It was a nail-biting last few minutes of play at The Abbey's inaugural alumnae versus present pupils netball match.

The event was organised by alumna Sinead Rosser (2015) and coincided with the annual Year 14 Tea, where girls who left last year come back to School to catch up with their former teachers and their friends.

The 'elderly' alumnae team, as they were fondly referred to, was made up of recent leavers and former pupils. In true Abbey style, everyone played a hard-fought game, with lots of laughter and jocularity along the way. It was umpired by former physical education staff Karen Blossom (and current Woodley coach) and Trista Thompson.

The Alumnae team clinched the game with a final score of 21-20 and everyone who took part was presented with a medal.

There were quite a few hardy pupils and staff braving the icy rain showers on the sidelines, with many more watching from inside the Sixth Form Centre. After the match Mrs Dent, Head of The Abbey, presented the winning team with a trophy. Ellie from Upper VI was awarded the Play of the Match trophy.

Everyone who took part was awarded a special medal to celebrate the School's inaugural Alumnae v Pupils Netball Match, which we can't wait to stage again next year.
