FAQ'S

WHERE DO WE MEET?  We are training at Woodford Park, Waingels College,  Bulmershe Leisure Centre in Woodley and Blue Coats School, Sonning. We play all year round during state school term time.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? There is an annual membership fee of £30 which includes affiliation fees to England Netball and helps to pay for the indoor courts, administration costs and makes girls eligible to play in tournaments. Subs are approx. £40 for each term (depending on number of weeks) payable termly or annually.

WHAT DO WE WEAR? For training girls wear any shorts, t-shirts, sweatshirts, tracksuits, although many like to wear their team kit. For fixtures players need a royal blue lycra top, royal blue lycra skirt & royal blue lycra shorts, available through the Club. Hoodies can also be purchased through the club.

WHAT DO WE DO? We operate in age group squads: U8 & U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14 and U15/U16. We train mainly in these squads and each has its own coach. Each session begins with a warm up, then we practise skills and drills and usually finish with a game.

DO WE PLAY MATCHES? Teams play in the Berkshire Junior Netball League over the winter. In June & July teams travel to Pontins, Brean Sands for a weekend tournament. Friendly games are organised against local teams. Woodley enters teams in a number of rallies during the year at various venues (eg. Bournemouth, East Grinstead, Southampton, Turnford and High Wycombe).

WHAT ELSE DO WE DO? We give older girls the chance to help as assistant coaches with the younger players and encourage them to take an umpiring/coaching course. At the end of each term we have a versatility rally involving mixed teams and chocolate prizes!

PRESENTATION EVENING: At the end of the summer term we have our Presentation Evening where we highlight the achievements of all teams during the season. We recognise individual achievements such as being selected for under 14 or under 16 Berkshire Academy training and we give individual awards in each age group for 'Most Improved Player' and 'Coaches Player'.

HOW DO I PROGRESS IN NETBALL? Woodley puts forward any girls that they feel have potential for further training, either at Senior Training or Berkshire Academies.

WHAT IS HIGH FIVE?  To introduce our youngest members to netball we play High Five both at training and in many tournaments.  Please click here for the Rules of High Five.
